Question #1

          If you were to die today do you know for sure you will go to Heaven or is that something you are still working on?

I did not know for many years my self. Then I discovered something wonderful. I discovered that it is possible to know for sure! I even discovered that this was the very reason the bible was written. Scripture says in 1 John 5:13 “These things have I written unto you... that ye may know that ye have eternal life.”

May I share with you how I came to know for certain that I have eternal life?

Question #2

          If you were to die today and stand before God and he were to say to you, “ Why should I let you into my Heaven?”

What would you say?

That’s all well and good.  When you answered that first question I thought I had some good news to share with you. Then after you answered the 2^nd question I know I do. In fact I’ll go so far as to say that in the next few minuets you will hear the greatest news you have ever heard in your whole life.  That’s some statement isn’t it? 

God has a purpose for our lives and wants us to be at peace with him and have life-abundantly and Eternal.

Bible says

“We have peace with God Through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Romans 5:1

“I have come that you may have life, and that you may have life more abundantly.”

John 10:10

But why don’t most people have this peace, eternal life and abundant life?

Bible says

GRACE

“Heaven is a free gift” Romans 6:23B

“It is not earned or deserved” Eph 2:8

“I have come that you may have life and life abundantly” John 10:10

MAN

The problem here is MAN. God loves us so much that he wants us to love him back freely so he gave us a free will to choose and we chose to not love him and to disobey God, which is SIN.

Bible says

“God loves us”

When we choose to disobey God we sin and that separates us from God.  Because He is a Just and Righteous God this sin must be punished. Exodus 34:7

Bible says

“All have sinned” Romans 3:23

“The wages of sin is death” Romans 6:23a

“Man can not save Himself” Mathew 5:48, James 2:10 & Proverbs 14:12

We have tried many ways to come back to God and make amends for our choices through religion, works, philosophy, morality, etc. All useless, dead ends for the

Bible says

“There is a way that seems right to man but in the end it leads to death” Proverbs 14:12, “Man cannot save himself” Mathew 5:48, James 2:10

But God also loves us and is merciful, 1 John 4:8 and “Desires that none should be lost”

“For while we were yet sinners God gave us his son to die for our sins the we might be forgiven” Romans 5:8

Who is this Son?

JESUS

1.    Who he is- The infinite God-Man. John 1-2,14

2.    What he did--- Died on the cross, was buried and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for. Isaiah 53:6 & 1 Peter 2:24

a.     Our Sins

b.     Purchase a place in Heaven for us.

Why?

So that we would be at peace with God, have eternal life and life abundantly.

          Now because God loves us and did not want us to be robots he gave us a free will to choose to love him… So we must choose to trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and receive him by a personal invitation for this gift of eternal life or reject him and continue in sin.

Bible says

“I am the way the truth and the light” “for by grace you have been saved, through faith, and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God…..” So grace is a free gift from God. By grace we have been saved.

Grace is receiving something we do not deserve. What did God give us that we did not deserve? Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son. Why? To restore us to a right relationship with God. How do we receive Jesus Christ?

Bible says

“Through faith…in Christ Jesus” Eph 2:10

What is faith???

FAITH

1.      What it is not.

a.     A mere intellectual assent.—Historical.

b.     A mere temporal Faith--- Health, Guidance, Financial etc.

2.      What it is.

a.     Action word, which requires believing, studying the word, Prayer and life application.

b.     Trusting in Jesus alone for eternal life. Acts 16:31

c.     People trust in only 1 of 2 things

d.     Themselves---“I”

e.     Jesus Christ---- “Not I”

          To receive Eternal life you must transfer your TRUST from “I” to “Jesus”

3.       Motivation for a Godly life is the GRATITUDE for what Christ has given us.

4. Romans 5:1 ¶ Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

LETS REVIEW

1.    God is Love—Just & Righteous

2.    Man is a Sinner

a.     You Choose to Sin----THEREFORE

b.     You are dead in Sin. Why?

                                                                         i.      Because GOD hates Sin

                                                                      ii.      Sin must be punished

                                                                   iii.      Because he is a JUST & RIGHTEOUS GOD.

The Bible says “The wages of Sin is Death” and  “That all have fallen short of the Glory of God.”

But because God is not only Holy---Just & Righteous, he also Loves his Creation and the Bible says, 2 Peter 3:9 “His desire is that none should be lost to Sin & Death. He wants all people to come to Repentance”, Ask for forgiveness of their Sins and turn to Him. So because God so loves us, (Romans 3:22-25), He sent is only begotten Son to pay the Death Penalty for our Sins on the cross. The bible says, “Jesus did this freely so that we might be saved from Gods Judgment and that we may have Eternal life.” 1 Peter 2:24 Gods Judgment is on all who reject Jesus Christ and is eternal life in a lake of fire with Satan, with gnawing, mashing of teeth and no rest for all of eternity.

3.    CHRIST therefore paid the price for our Sins by his death on the cross.

4.    When you repent of your Sins and ask Jesus into your heart as Lord and Savior--- God forgives you & restores you to a right love relationship with him through Jesus Christ. Gives you Eternal life in heaven.

God loves us so much that he gave his only begotten Son to die on the cross for our Sins so that who ever believes in him will have eternal life. Isn’t that wonderful?

COMMITMENT

1.    Does this make Sense to you?

a.     You have just heard the Greatest Story ever told, about the greatest offer ever made, by the greatest person who ever lived.

2.    Now the Question God is asking you----- Would you like to receive the Gift of Eternal life?

SINNERS PRAYER

….“God I confess that I’m a sinner and I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross and was raised for my Justification (salvation), I do now receive Him into my heart and confess Him as my personal Savior.”

My God, Lord and Savior

“One God and Father for us all, who is above all, through all and in all” Ephesians 4:6,  “In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:10,  “God gives to all men life, breath every thing that in Him we live, move and have our being” Acts  17:25,28  and indeed Jesus Christ “holds all things together” Col 1:17 and continuously  “upholding the Universe by the very power of his word.” Hebrews 1:3
